My name is Alexandria Block. I was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I was first introduced to art in elementary school. My art work often received rave reviews and was featured in the school districts calendar. When I entered middle school I was exposed to 3D art making techniques. During this time in middle school I really honed in on the skills and craft it took to become a fine artist. Shading, wood working, and sculpting became second nature to me. I truly realized my talent in art during high school when my work was chosen to be submitted into a statewide competition. Thousands entered but only a select few were chosen to win an award. It was a privilege to have my artwork displayed at Milwaukee Art Museum for a month with famous artists like Andy Warhol. Three of my pieces were submitted. A print, a photograph, and a mixed media collage. I walked away with two silver keys awards and one golden key award for my collage. That’s when I knew I wanted to become an artist, and keep striving to improve my work. I then attended school at MIAD (Milwaukee institute of art and design) and graduated in 2014 with my BFA in Integrated Studio Arts (ISA).
